I had the privilege of learning Kannada from Sudarshan Sir even before I moved to Bengaluru. At that time, I was living in Kolkata and preparing for a major transition in my life—not only relocating to Karnataka but also becoming a part of a Kannada-speaking family, as my wife is a Kannadiga. What started as Kannada language lessons soon became much more than that. Sir helped me understand not just the language, but also the rich culture, traditions, cuisine, customs, and way of life in Karnataka. His guidance made my transition to Bengaluru much smoother and helped me feel connected to the local culture from day one. Over the years, he has been far more than a teacher to me.
